I wrote this Nocturne for my beloved cat "Caline" whom I had to put to sleep due to heart failure. She was a cherished companion for over 14 years. The melody of this piece spells out her name: C-A-L-I-N-E translates musically into: C-A-E-B-G-E. The simple lyrical theme is instantly charming to audiences; in my own studio this Nocturne has been a success at every performance and it is by far the most requested piece from my intermediate level students!
